     Recent Project

In June 2003 Creative Art Technologies was commissioned by Factum Arte Madrid and Artist Marc Quinn to digitally paint the first two of several 40 foot high orchid images. Creative Art Technologies was chosen because of their unique ability to print with long lasting, durable oil paints. Utilizing this new painting process CAT can create images of any size that are not only beautiful but can also withstand the harsh exterior environments.

The images were digitally painted onto a polyflax canvas, and then shipped to Nottingham, England to be adhered to two forty foot high stainless steel orchid sculptures. They were than coated with a water cured polyurethane resin to encapsulate the printed layer and provide another layer of UV protection.

One orchid is being shown on the Peggy Guggenheim Collection’s Grand Canal terrace as part of the 50th Venice Bienale. The second orchid can be seen at the Goodwood Sculpture Park near Chichester, England.

Creative Art Technologies is currently working on three other orchid designs for Factum Arte and Marc Quinn.
